So, it’s World Mental Health Day.
What is more powerful to our present and future than mental health?
It’s unique to every human being on earth. It can lift and help flourish this world –or it can be as damaging as the worst epidemic.
It, indeed, has the power to change the world. And its overall responsibility is comprised of billions of people—each individually maneuvering their way as best as they can, through their own journeys.
That’s powerful.
It’s an odd juxtaposition between an individual’s personal well-being and the health of our societies. They do affect one another, and profoundly so.
The good news? Help exists. And one segment of society whom I suggest we uplift, support and encourage with kindness? It’s our mental health professionals.
My message to the therapists, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, behavioral therapists and counselors? Please never quit. America needs you. And there are so very many of us who admire, respect and appreciate your efforts. Keep BEING THE CHANGE and know there’s love and support behind you, no matter how invisible it may be.
And to society, isn’t it such a gift to have help literally at our fingertips? To have available (with just a click) assistance on our quest of understanding? Of feeling? Of coping and self-analysis? And of learning to recognize the blessings that surround us, no matter how small?
Let us remember, finding help is a strength, and embracing that help? Can move mountains.
For what we seek is what we shall find. So seek goodness. Seek joy. Seek a pathway to fill your spirit and awaken your joy. We are all created comprised of innate joy—sometimes we just need to find the ignition to rev it to life.
Life is a compilation of the effects of our choices. So choose wisely. Choose intentionally. And let’s train ourselves to seek pathways that spark our inner joy. Understand that happiness is a fleeting emotion; joy is a lifestyle.
Happy World Mental Health Day. Let’s lift one another up with kindness. Let’s smile at one another. And let’s show grace and say prayers for those who struggle. We are all born with unlimited love. Let grace + understanding be the keys to open the floodgates.
