If you can’t see sand and surf on the daily, beachy hair—the loose waves that look effortless, as if the ocean breeze put ‘em there—can still be at your fingertips. 

Catching Your Waves

Curl It

The most common way to achieve wavy beach curls, is with a 1-inch diameter curling iron. Spray a heat protectant on hair first, then section the hair, wrapping each section around the barrel from root to near the ends. Release hair after a few moments and allow curls to cool. Spray with your favorite hair spray. Once dry, lightly ‘comb’ curls with your fingertips and spray once more. This loosens the curls to a natural-looking beach-put-‘em-there look.

Braid It

Yes, it’s the age-old trick that never fails. It also requires no heat to potentially dry or damage hair. Wash and condition, then braid hair, lightly mist with your favorite hairspray, and allow hair to dry thoroughly (preferably overnight). Once dry, remove braids, combing through lightly with just the fingertips. And voila! You have dreamy beachy waves.

Spray ‘n Go

If, like me, you have naturally wavy (but thin!) hair, here’s what I do:  I simply wash, condition + comb with a wide-toothed comb, then apply Pureology® Split-End Salve treatment on my ends (if interested, find this product in our Shop). Next is a light mist r with Marc Anthony® Dream Waves Beach Spray. Using fingertips, twist curls, mist again, spray lightly with hair spray, let it air-dry and voila, done. That’s it. For the rest of the day. How easy is that?

For Serious Volume

For those who want serious volume and a tidal wave of curls, spray hair thoroughly with Marc Anthony® Dream Waves Beach Spray, then use a diffuser while scrunching your hair.

Tropical Scents

We love the coconut scent of this Marc Anthony product… so, along with scents of morning coffee, its great to start the day catching a whiff of island coconuts. That said, if you don’t like the scent of coconuts and sunshine, you won’t like this product. Just sayin’. 🙂
