Snooze buttons are sooo tempting. Warm beds are sooo cozy ‘n comfy. And a lack of morning sunshine (for much of the USA) makes even the driven among us roll over and say, ‘fuh-get about it.’
So we must be more driven.
And if we can blast away the temptations pulling us from what we should do—and if we can do so in January of all months (yuck), we might just create life-lasting habits to propel us to awesomeness.
Sound enticing? Of course it does. 🙂
So, begin tomorrow morning. Set your alarm. And then, guess what? Get up when it goes off. It’s that simple.
Force yourself to crawl from beneath the sheets, stand bedside, stretch. Drink some water, start the coffee pot and begin your day. You’ll be glad you did.
And, friends, I’ll be doing the same. Do I like getting up in the morning? Heck no! But I’ll be up, and I’ll start my day with a run. Yes, I’ll layer up like Ralphie’s little brother to withstand Old Man Winter, but I’ll go, nonetheless. Do I like it? Heck NO. Do I love to run? No way!
But, I’ve never regretted a run. And it starts my day with purpose. I’m grateful that my husband is my motivator. And, if you’d like, I will be yours.
May January’s latter-half be a turning period in YOUR world. A time to solidify habits that help you reach your goals. And good habits? They start with the beginning of each day.
So, tomorrow morning? Be bigger than cozy temptations and snooze buttons. Don’t ‘try’ to get up. Just DO.
At the alarm’s sound, wake up, beauty—and know it’s time to beast. Get after it. One step at a time—and know you’re not alone. I’ll be up, too. And after my run, I’ll be nodding a coffee ‘cheers’ to my fellow get-‘er-done pals. Let’s get after our goals. Together. One get-up at a time.
Don’t try, friends. Just DO.
